Jewelry Show
This event is to present experimental artistic jewelry during the college of design exhibition every three years. Students are involved in the comprehensive planning on stage design, costume making, choreography, sound and video production. Students work in teams of diverse fields and have a comprehensive and artistic presentation experience from collaborations in each field.

The Metalwork Forum
The Metalwork Forum, which started in 2000 and takes place in the suburbs at the end of March every year, is an academic event planned by students and is a representative event of the Department of Metalwork and Jewelry. The seminar and guest lectures are held on the crafts issues selected every year to broaden knowledge and insights about related fields. In addition, the Forum functions as social events between students, professors, and alums.

Third-Year Ass ignment Exhibition
At the end of each semester, in June and December third-year students present the results from the various courses in the on-campus Design Gallery.

Jewelry Street
The Jewelry Street that started in 2000 is an event where students create and sell their own ornaments during school festivals. Students are responsible for all the processes such as planning, producing, promoting, and selling, which provides a learning opportunity to meet consumers directly, test their designs, and practice marketing effectively. Some of the proceeds are donated to the poor.

The Graduation Exhibition
The Graduation Exhibition has been the debut event for the future metal craftsmen as an annual graduation work presentation of the fourth-year students in the galleries at the center of Seoul since 1999. The Exhibition holds an event for the best design award for the students who exhibited the best works on the opening day. Professor Yoon Deok-Noh (’96), who is one of the winners, currently serves as a professor at Kansas State University, and other winners have been outstanding in the design field.
International Exchange
Since the establishment, the Kookmin University Department of Metalwork and Jewelry has been actively engaged in various international exchanges. Beginning from the student exchange program with Sheffield Hallam University (UK) in 1988, the Department operates student exchange programs with more than 10 major arts universities in North America, Europe and Asia, including University of Art and Design Helsinki (Finland), Edinburgh University (UK), Monash University (Australia), Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (Canada), Kansas State University (USA), University of Wisconsin (USA), Pforzheim University (Germany), Hiko Mizuno College of Jewelry (Japan), Silpakorn University (Thailand), École Des Arts Du RHIN (France), and Istituto Europeo di Design (IED, Italy). The Department send three to four students overseas each year, and have had 194 exchange students, including about 66 visiting students until 2017. Furthermore, the Department has held guest lectures, including Suzanne Ramljak, Editor-in-Chief of Metal Smiths, published by the North American Metal Crafts Association (SNAG) in 2013, and Hiroshi Suzuki, a world-renowned designer in 2016, steadily providing special lectures, exchange exhibitions and workshops with domestic and foreign designers.
