Professor Emeritus Yoo Yang Seok of our university's College of Liberal Arts has been selected as the recipient of the 34th Choui Award.

The Choui Award honors individuals who have significantly contributed to the development of Korea's tea culture and tea industry. It recognizes those who have inherited and advanced the tea ceremony spirit of Choui Seonsa, contributed to the refinement of national sentiment and the continuation of fine traditions through the spread and popularization of tea culture, and made outstanding contributions. The recipients of the 34th Choui Award are Professor Emeritus Yoo Yang Seok of our university and Chairman Jeong In Ho of the Korea Tea Research Association.

Professor Emeritus Yoo Yang eok was selected for the Choui Award in recognition of his significant contributions to enhancing the global recognition of Korean tea and tea culture. He served as a professor at Kookmin University, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Kookmin University, and President of the Korean Tea Society. He has also continuously contributed to regional development through over 40 tea-related academic research papers, earning him academic awards, commendations from Boseong County, and the Hadong Regional Development Merit Award.
