Kookmin University (President Jeong Seung Ryul) and its Career Development Support Center (Director Sohn Jin Sik) have joined forces with Gangnam-gu Single-Person Household Community Center to provide tailored employment support for young people in single-person households in the Seoul area.

This collaboration forms part of Kookmin University's University Job Plus Center's ongoing region-based partnership programmes and was planned to provide practical employment support services for the growing number of unemployed young people in single-person households.

On Friday, 7th November, the Career Development Support Team visited the Gangnam-gu Single-Person Household Community Center in person. They reviewed various support programmes for local youth and agreed that Kookmin University would provide employment-related services, which are currently relatively lacking. This agreement establishes a collaborative framework for tailored career and employment support between the two institutions.

As the first step in this collaboration, a special employment lecture will be held at the Gangnam-gu Single-Person Household Community Center on Tuesday, 25 November. This lecture, targeting approximately 30 young people using the Gangnam-gu Community Center, will be delivered by a professor currently teaching employment-related subjects at Kookmin University. The topic will be ‘Analysis of 2025 Recruitment Trends and 2026 Employment Strategies’.

Moving forward, the two institutions plan to establish a more systematic collaboration framework through signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). They will then formulate plans for various employment support programmes scheduled to operate in 2026 and proceed with their phased implementation.

A Kookmin University official stated, “Starting with this collaboration with the Gangnam-gu Single-Person Household Community Center, we plan to continuously expand the scope of providing tailored employment services for unemployed young people in single-person households within the Seoul area.”
